Photoluminescent tape

We would recommend the use of pure Strontium pigmented materials for use as part of LLL systems, see low location lighting page, however, standard vinly tapes are suitable for normal way finding applications where LLL regulations do not apply. The performance of standard tapes can be found on the Photoluminescent Vinyl material page

Typical uses are shown below:

Strontium Aluminate Vinyl Tape
Low Location Lighting systems. This tape will meet IMO requirements for LLL systems in very low ambient light levels however it is recommended that checks are made prior to installation to asses the situation on board.
  Standard Vinyl Tape
Emergency equipment marking, handrail identification & stair identification where LLL regulations do not apply and high performance is not required.
  Way finding Tape
Low location lighting, directional route marking and way finding. Supplied with 10 left and 10 right handed decals to allow tape to indicate either direction.
Green Diagonal Tape
Marking safe areas, exit door highlighting and escape identification.
  Black Diagonal Tape
Danger zone marking obstacle marking.
  Red Diagonal Tape
Highlighting fire fighting equipment hazard marking.

Pipe Tape
Good working practice should dictate the use of a pipe identification system to promote a safe working environment. The system detailed here conforms to BS 1710, and the colours to BS 4800.

Tapes should be fitted either side of valves, at bulkhead penetrations, 'T's and crosses etc. and at regular intervals along the pipe. Prior to application pipes and lagging should be dust and oil free. The tape should be overlapped by at least 20mm on the blind side of the pipe.

SOLAS Tape
Required for marking pertinent life saving equipment.

Non-slip Tape
Required for areas where sure footing is needed. Tapes should be fitted to escape routes on deck, walkways on deck, stair nosings, engine room ladders and galleys.
