Fire & Safety Plans

Regulation

Fire and Safety plans shall be permanently exhibited for the guidance of the ship's officers and they shall show clearly for each deck the information as required by the SOLAS 1974 Regulations.

Alternatively, at the discretion of the Administration, the aforementioned details may be set out in a booklet, a copy of which shall be supplied to each officer.

Plans and booklets shall be kept up to date with any alterations recorded as soon as possible.

Description in such plans and booklets shall be in the language or languages

required by the Administration. If the language is neither English nor French, a translation into one of these languages shall be included. A duplicate set of fire control plans or a booklet containing such plans shall be permanently stored in a prominently marked weatherproof container 2613Z outside the deckhouse for the assistance of shore-side fire-fighting personnel.

All work is carried out using the latest internationally recognized IMO/ISO graphical symbols. Drawings are produced as originals working from prints of the ship's general arrangement or by importing existing CAD files held by the customer. This allows us to offer complete, full colour, laminated drawings to A0+ size to cover most ship board requirements. If required, plans can be securely archived for the customer. Thereafter retrieval and modification is quick and cost effectively made.

For added protection plans can be laminated and this is particularly important if the fire control plan is to be sited outside the deckhouse.
Fire Plans printed on PSPA Class C photoluminescent vinyl will considerable improve the effectiveness of this safety application.

Plan Modification

Following modification or risk assessment the location of fire fighting and life saving appliances can change. The SOLAS 1974 regulations require that alterations to the Fire Control Plan are recorded as soon as possible. Whilst our CAD design department will fulfill this task the “stick-on” pictograms offered by Maritime Progress are an ideal, cost effective alternative solution for the modification to Fire and Life-saving Plans.
