One of the most important events in the maritime calendar is the Sea Asia conference and exhibition, scheduled to take place in Singapore between the 11th and the 14th April 2011. In addition to exhibiting products and services, delegates have the opportunity of attending seminars and conferences each day, giving them a feel not only for the current economic trends within the industry, but also product innovation, technical developments and new areas of operations.
Maritime Progress Ltd. will be there. Captain Andrew Goldsmith, Marine Technical Manager, comments, "We have to keep in touch with the world of shipping. Being the world leader in the manufacture and supply of signs and associated products for the Marine Industry, this will be a golden opportunity to meet with our clients and other exhibitors. There have been some important product innovations and improvements recently which we need to discuss with our agents and end users; this will be an ideal opportunity to do so".
The supply of training aids in the form of instructional and advisory posters is just one area in which Maritime Progress relates directly with marine management and the crews of ships. In a fast changing industry, these posters are constantly under review and feedback from clients frequently results in improvements and modification or even the introduction of new products. Improved production techniques has enhanced the effectiveness of the photoluminescent material used in Low Location Lighting and signage systems, making its use ideal in both retro fitting and new build circumstances. Engraved plastic signs using a luminescent "reveal", technique can be ideal in operational and even recreational areas. Among other issues, Maritime Progress is currently championing the idea that designated enclosed spaces should be highlighted on vessel safety plans thereby raising awareness of these potentially dangerous spaces. Anything which can increase safety awareness at sea should be a subject for discussion and a forum such as the Sea Asia event is ideal for this purpose.
Maritime Progress looks forward to engaging with other exhibitors and personnel within the marine environment. Our business is more than just the wide range of products in our catalogue. It is client driven and we can offer friendly advice and specialised support in a variety of issues related to training, information and safety.
If you are at Sea Asia this year, please look in and join Debbie Egan, Sales Director and Andy Goldsmith for coffee and a chat on stand L31.
